The self-insured employer sought reconsideration, requesting that the Board determine the date on which claimant's compensation should begin. Claimant responded, contending that his compensation should commence as of October 20, 2000. On April 9, 2002, we abated our order to allow sufficient time to consider the parties' submissions. On reconsideration, we offer the following. In essence, the parties are seeking guidance regarding a claim processing matter. It is not the Board's role to provide advisory opinions on such matters. Rather, it is a carrier's obligation to perform its claim processing function in accordance with applicable statutes and rules. Thereafter...
