QUESTION Are county commissions required to pay recording fees to the probate judge for recordation of deeds? FACTS AND ANALYSIS Your request states that presently the Lawrence County Probate Judge requires the County Commission to pay a recording fee for recording right-of-way deeds and other types of deeds. Probate judges are required to charge and deposit into the county treasury fees for services as set forth in Code of Alabama 1975, _ 12-19-90.
