Upon receipt of such certificate of title and such true copy of the chattel mortgage, conditional sales contract or title retaining note by the secretary of state, accompanied by the fee of 50 cents, the secretary of state shall record upon the certificate of title in a suitable place the information contained in said chattel mortgage, conditional sales contract or title retaining note.
