Each charter township shall have power to acquire property for public purposes by purchase, gift, condemnation, lease, construction, or otherwise, and to maintain and operate public buildings, parks, and facilities needed in the performance of the powers and functions, expressed and implied, granted, possessed, and required of them by this act, or any other statute of the state of Michigan relating to townships and may sell and convey or lease any such property or part thereof which is not needed for public purposes: Provided, Th...
