MCL 256.669 Coordinated Segment 1 Driver Education Course; Approval of Secretary of State; Written Agreement Between Provider and Student; Terms

(1) The secretary of state may approve the giving of a coordinated segment 1 driver education course. Adriver education provider shall not give a coordinated segment 1 driver education course without the prior written approval of the secretary of state. The provider shall file a request for approval with the secretary of state in a format as prescribed by the secretary of state. The secretary of state may review a request on a case-by-case basis.

(2) A driver education provider shall not give instruction under this section until after the provider and the student have entered into a written agreement as provided in this subsection. The agreement shall be dated and signed by both the provider and the student. The agreement shall contain all the terms of agreement between the provider and the student and include all of the following:

(a) The student's name, address, birth date, and telephone number.

(b) If the student is a minor, the parent's or legal guardian's name, address, and telephone number.
