         Mr. A. V. Davis          Circuit Clerk          P. O. Box 614          Natchez, Mississippi 39120          Dear Mr. Davis:          Attorney General Summer has received your letter of request dated August 16, 1973, and assigned it to the undersigned for research and reply.          You enclose with your letter what appears to be a photocopy of a civil judgment taken by default in the First City Court of the City of New Orleans, Section B, and request an opinion of this office regarding the enrollment of judgments taken in state courts other than Mississippi.          You also enclose with your letter a photocopy of a letter from Honorable J. Steve Chustz wherein he quotes the first part of Section 1557, Mississippi Code of 1942, Recompiled, which said Section provides in part:
“A judgment or decree rendered in any court of the United States or of this state . . .” after which Mr. Chustz states: “Based on this statute I feel that the judgment should, and could be lawfully enrolled on your judgment rolls.”
         Section 1557, [a1] supra, provides only that judgments or decrees rendered in courts of the United States (federal courts) can be enrolled as provided in said Section and does not authorize judgments taken in state courts, other than the courts of the State of Mississippi, to be enrolled under the provisions of this Section.          Title 28, Section 1738, U.S.C.A ., provides, inter alia:
“The acts of the legislature of any State, Territory, or Possession of the United States, or copies thereof, shall be authenticated by affixing the seal of such State, Territory or Possession thereto. “The records and judicial proceedings of any court of any such State, Territory or Possession, or copies thereof, shall be provided or admitted in other courts within the United States
