         Honorable T. J. Glover, Jr.          Sheriff          Lowndes County          418 9th Avenue South          Columbus, Mississippi 39701          Dear Mr. Glover:          This will acknowledge receipt of your letter of December 20, 1971, in which you asked three separate questions. As a matter of convenience, I will quote your questions and thereafter furnish you with my opinion.
“1) Will these men be required to attend the Law Enforcement Academy for the required period of time, as will the regular deputies?”
         Section 4235(b), Mississippi Code of 1942, Recompiled and Amended, provides that each deputy sheriff who has law enforcement duties is required to attend and complete an appropriate curriculum at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Academy within one          (1) year from the date of his appointment, and thereafter to attend advanced courses as may be available. Since an auxiliary deputy sheriff will have law enforcement duties, it is my opinion that all such deputies are required to complete the law enforcement curriculum. 2) Will...
