Request for Bids for Construction Services
Notice is hereby given for the receipt of subcontractor
bids for the Early Site Utility Package for the LEEP 2 —
Engineering High Bay, Lawrence, Project Number A-
012174(a). This project will be delivered under the con-
struction management at-risk statute K.S.A 75-37,144.
Turner Construction Company is the construction man-
ager.
Site utility subcontractor bids will be received for work
as shown on the plans and specifications and specifically
in accordance with Turner’s published Scopes of Work
for each bid package. The project includes the demolition
of existing gravel drives, concrete sidewalks, curbs and
pavement, and the removal and relocation of parking me-
ters and light poles. This package will include erosion
control, installation of a new sanitary sewer, domestic
water line, gas line, two (2) electrical duct banks, one (1)
for power and one (1) for low voltage, and associated
electrical utility structures. Special conditions for this pro-
ject include but are not limited to special site conditions
for parking and storage, usage and access, working
hours, construction schedule requirements and phasing.
Subcontractors and suppliers are encouraged to carefully
review all of the bidding documents for the unique as-
pects of the project.
Subcontractor bids will be received until 2 p.m. March
14 at the office of Turner Construction Company. Fax and
email bids will be accepted. Contact Nick Findley at
Turner Construction Company, 2345 Grand Blvd., Suite
1000, Kansas City, MO 64108, 816-283-0555, fax 816-283-
0558 or gfindley@tcco.com. Bidders not already on the
Office of Facilities and Procurement Management’s pre-
qualified contractors list shall accompany their bid with
a statement of qualifications indicating the organization’s
history and structure, past experience, claims and law-
suits, and, if applicable, bonding capacity. Alternatively,
bidders may submit qualifications on either AIA Docu-
ment A305 or AGC Document No. 221. Bidders who are
not on the Turner Construction Company preapproved
bidders list and wish to bid must also complete and sub-
mit a Turner Construction Prequalification Statement
prior to submitting a bid. A prequalification statement is
available with the bid documents on Turner’s website.
Construction documents, plans, specifications, scopes
of work, bid forms/documents and associated informa-
tion will be available through the online plan-room util-
ized by Turner Construction for this project at
www.turner-kc.com/KULEEP2. All subcontract bids
must be submitted on the Turner provided forms with
full document acknowledgement and any associated at-
tachments included to be considered for this project.
A pre-bid conference and walk-through will be held at
11 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, at the project site, lo-
cated on the West Campus west of Becker Drive and the
park and ride lot.
