Box 1727          Jackson, Mississippi 39215-1727          Re: Tax Payment by Credit Cards           Dear Mr. Pepper:          Attorney General Mike Moore has received your request for an Official Opinion from this office and has assigned it to me for research and reply.          Your letter states and asks:
If a county depository charges a service charge on a county Tax Collector's account for credit card payments of Ad Valorem taxes being deposited into the county depository, can this service charge be paid by the Board of Supervisors? There seems to be no difference in this service charge for credit cards than a service charge for checks being deposited into the account or any other charge that are being made by county depositories.
         We have previously opined that Tax Collectors may accept payment of ad valorem taxes by credit card...
