West Kingston Elementary SchoolOur File No.: PR99-0501 Dear Mr. Jordan: The investigation into your Access to Public Records Act ("APRA") complaint filed against the West Kingston Elementary School ("School") is complete. You contend that the School denied your request for access to "Records of Teacher Requests for fundings sent home with students." In response to your complaint, we contacted legal counsel for the School, Stephen Robinson, Esquire, who in turn contacted South Kingston Superintendent, John M. Harrington. In an October 29, 1999 letter to this Department, which was also sent to you, Superintendent Harrington forwarded five copies of "the current information available on fund raising programs that [he] requested from West Kingston Elementary School." These five documents represent all available notices sent to parents regarding various fund raising projects. The APRA governs the public's right to access public records. See R.I. Gen.
