Qualifications of members

No person shall be a representative or senator who shall not have attained the age of twenty-five years, who shall not be a citizen of the United States, and who shall not for at least twelve months next preceding his election, have resided within the territory included in the limits of the district in which he shall be chosen.

ANNOTATION

Residence for 12 months within legislative district deemed requisite qualification. A requisite qualification of a person for election to the Colorado general assembly is residence for 12 months within the legislative district wherein he seeks to be elected. Anderson v. Gonzales, 155 Colo. 381, 395 P.2d 9 (1964).
