RECEIVING AN ILLEGAL GRATUITY BY A PUBLIC
OFFICIAL
18 U.S.C. § 201(c)(1)(B)
The defendant is charged in count ———with a
violation of 18 U.S.C. section 201(c)(1)(B).
This law makes it a crime for a public off‌icial to [demand]
[seek] [receive] [accept] [agree to receive or ac- cept] anything
of value personally [for] [because of] an of- f‌icial act
[performed] [to be performed] by that off‌icial.
To f‌ind the defendant guilty of this crime you must be
convinced that the government has proved each of the fol-
lowing beyond a reasonable doubt:
First: the defendant was a public off‌icial;
Second: the defendant directly or indirectly [demanded]
[sought] [received] [accepted] [agreed to receive or accept]
something of value personally, and
Third: the defendant did so [for] [because of] an off‌icial
act (specify act) [performed] [to be performed] by the
defendant.
