vLex subscribers will soon have access to the new, relaunched, Caribbean Law Review (CLR) through vLex’s intelligent legal research platform, alongside [CLR’s previous editions](https://justis.vlex.com/#ww/sources/48609) dating back to 1991. 

Founded in 1991, the Caribbean Law Review is the University of the West Indies Faculty of Law’s biannual flagship journal, publishing high-quality scholarship and commentary on Commonwealth Caribbean Law. vLex is proud to work with CLR in its mission of disseminating Caribbean legal scholarship by improving the accessibility and discoverability of CLR articles with cutting-edge research technology.

The CLR is strategically and historically significant to the Caribbean; taking a uniquely Caribbean-centric perspective rather than the comparative angle commonly adopted by publications outside the region. The journal’s articles are frequently cited by courts and legal scholars. 

The CLR’s relaunch on May 24 solidified its commitment to authoritative, peer-reviewed, analysis on Caribbean legal issues. The [relaunch issue](https://rad-witty-paper.media.strapiapp.com/Caribbean_Law_Review_2024_Roman_Pages_i_vii_merged_1_226439864a.pdf?updated_at=2024-04-25T12:11:13.027Z) showcases its multidisciplinary approach – incorporating substantive law, policy, and socio-legal studies. Readers will find a variety of articles, including a discussion about the ethics of health-promoting taxes, an overview of regulations governing noncommunicable diseases, and an analysis of sugar tax legislation. 

In addition to articles by legal experts and scholars, the journal includes in-depth commentary, case notes, and book reviews of recent and upcoming legal titles. Academics, lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals rely on CLR to keep up with developments and trends in Caribbean law and jurisprudence. 

The relaunch is a significant milestone in CLR’s mission to foster and make Caribbean legal scholarship available more widely – also a key factor in the journal’s decision to become open access in 2021. As with the rest of the publications in vLex’s extensive Caribbean Law offering, CLR is enhanced by innovative vLex research technologies and features that make articles even more discoverable and accessible to researchers. CLR is also linked to and from vLex’s wider global repository of trusted legal information, further improving its discoverability.

The Caribbean Law Review Exclusively Relaunches on vLex 

A new joint project has been announced to help promote access to justice in the United States by creating the first fully comprehensive collection of U.S. federal and state opinions as a free database.

Miami, FL. September 12, 2022. — Free Law Project, a nonprofit that uses software, data and advocacy to make the U.S. legal ecosystem more equitable and competitive, is building a fully audited and complete database of judges’ opinions from U.S. federal and state courts. This comprehensive and easy-to-access collection of opinions will be available to the public as a free resource, accessible on Free Law Project’s Court Listener website.

Financial and technical support for this project is being provided by vLex, an award-winning provider of research technology and global legal information. With a rich history of supporting initiatives that promote greater access to justice, vLex has most recently collaborated on a once in a generational project with Mischon de Reya, a leading international law firm, to revolutionize the dissemination of UK court judgments, making them easily accessible via The National Archives. Through vLex’s continued investment in access to justice and Free Law Project’s initiatives, the two companies aim to significantly enhance public access to the law, and improve resources for researchers and practitioners in the U.S. and internationally.

vLex and Free Law Project collaborate to support greater access to justice in the United States

**London and Toronto. July 29, 2021.** — As of August 2021, Irwin Law and vLex have entered into a service agreement for hosting Irwin Law’s products on vLex, and a share purchase agreement, with vLex acquiring a minority shareholding in Irwin Law Inc, marking the start of a promising new partnership for two established legal information providers in Canada.

Overseeing these new agreements, Masoud Gerami, Managing Director of vLex Global Markets, will join Irwin Law’s board of directors alongside Jeffrey Miller, the President of Irwin Law, who shares his excitement about this new partnership:
