vLex is excited to announce the shortlist for our seventh annual International Law and Technology Writing Competition! We received a huge amount of brilliant submissions across the three categories for 2024 – Immigration, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Industrial Action – and the finalists for each topic are listed below. Congratulations to everyone who was shortlisted!

This year, we received articles from university students doing cutting edge research and analysis in countries around the world. vLex would like to thank everyone who took the time to write such thoughtful, well-researched articles on the critical issues of today – especially LLMs, an area that attracted a substantial number of submissions on the novel research questions raised by this new technology. The originality and quality of all the articles definitely made shortlisting a very difficult decision.

The judging panel is now blind reviewing the shortlist to pick a winner in each category, and one overall winner – to be announced in April.
